You attend vocational school and do three internships (11 weeks) in the kitchen or in service. After three years you receive your professional qualification certificate and are a qualified cook or service professional. You can then add a 4th year (specialisation year) and, after a further preparatory year, take the state final exam (Matura).

LBS Savoy
At the Savoy provincial vocational school you can complete the three-year vocational school for cooking/service, the 1st and 2nd year of hotel management school and the apprenticeship training for cooking and service.
LBS Gutenberg
At the provincial vocational school for hospitality “Johannes Gutenberg” in Bolzano you can attend the two-year basic training (1st and 2nd year of hotel management school).
BBZ Hellenstainer
In addition to its hospitality focus, the vocational training centre is the only vocational school in South Tyrol that also trains butchers, bakers and confectioners.
